Seoul, South Korea – Korea Youth Summit 2026 brought together young people from various countries to learn, exchange perspectives, and collaborate in addressing global issues. Organized by Youth Break the Boundaries from September 7–10, 2026, in Seoul, KYS 2026 carried the theme “Empowering Youth Through Cultural Synergy” with the tagline “Living Culture, Lasting Legacy.”
More than a four-day program, Korea Youth Summit 2026 was designed as a space for young people to build cross-cultural connections, develop ideas, and reflect on their role in creating change. The experience became an important part of the delegates’ journey as they came from different countries, cultures, educational backgrounds, and experiences.
For Meldi Latifah Saraswati, one of the steering committee of the Korea Youth Summit 2026 organizing team, the experience brought one key message: young people are not only being prepared to become future leaders but also have a role as leaders and changemakers today.
Young People Do Not Have to Wait to Make an Impact
According to Meldi, CEO of Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB), meaningful change does not always have to start with something big. It can begin with a simple idea or concern about issues within the surrounding community, followed by the courage to collaborate and turn that idea into concrete action.
This message was one of the key takeaways that delegates were expected to bring home after participating in Korea Youth Summit 2026. They were encouraged to return not only with certificates or documentation from their time in Korea but also with new experiences, connections, and the courage to create an impact in their respective communities.
Korea Youth Summit brought together young people from diverse backgrounds in one space to discuss ideas and create something together. These differences became part of the learning process while opening new perspectives on how ideas can grow through cross-cultural collaboration.
Korea Youth Summit as a Space for Collaboration
For the organizing team, the progress of Korea Youth Summit 2026 cannot be measured solely by the number of participants or the scale of the event. The development of the program and the ecosystem built throughout the years have also become important parts of the summit’s journey.
Lessons from previous editions were applied to Korea Youth Summit 2026. These included developing project presentations, bringing perspectives from various sectors, building partnerships in Korea, and creating a space where delegates could genuinely connect with one another.
“If asked about its biggest achievement, I see KYS as having grown from more than just an international youth summit into a platform that brings young people from different countries together to learn, collaborate, and build long-term networks,” said Meldi.
For Meldi, seeing delegates who initially did not know one another engage in discussions, work on projects together, and remain connected after the program ended was one of the most meaningful achievements of the summit.
The Impact to Be Carried Forward
The end of Korea Youth Summit does not mean the end of its impact. Instead, after delegates return to their respective countries and communities, the experiences they gained during the summit are expected to develop into action.
Ideas and projects that emerged during Korea Youth Summit can be adapted to meet the needs of each community. These initiatives do not always have to take the form of large-scale projects.
Social initiatives, startups, campaigns, collaborative research, and simple efforts to raise youth awareness of particular issues can all become forms of impact inspired by KYS.
“We want to build a ripple effect. One delegate gains new experiences and perspectives, then brings them back to their community, and from there, the impact continues to grow,” Meldi explained.
Closing
Korea Youth Summit 2026 demonstrates how an international gathering can become a starting point for broader change. Experiences gained during the summit can be brought back to local communities, developed through collaboration, and translated into different forms of action.
The lessons from Korea Youth Summit 2026 therefore do not end with what happened during four days in Seoul. Their value can continue to grow through delegates who bring home new perspectives, share them with their communities, and take the next steps toward creating meaningful change.
